AWESOME TEXAS LONE STAR QUILT
I love this quilt! Not sure on age as the solid colours make it hard for me to date but I guess around 30's / 40's and hails from Southern California, USA. The work that went into this one is amazing, entirely hand pieced and hand quilted obviously by an expert, at 8-9 stitches per inch and there is masses of it! It is filled with lovely thin cotton batting. As lovely as it is, it’s not perfect, with wear on the edges and some places throughout the quilt. It does not sit flat and It has some holes, marks and broken stitches but none of these faults takes away from the beauty of this quilt. Please see the close up photographs and judge for yourself. Measures approx 75 X 78 Inches.
Nice and Loud this quilt top! Hard to date but does have lots of feedsack fabric. Approx 67 X 80 Inches (170 X 203 cm) it is mostly machine pieced with a few hand pieced blocks. It is not in perfect condition, not flat or square and has a very musty smell but I do not like to wash unfinished quilts.

Lovely quilt made to snuggle up in! Simple nine patch on point? In shades of mauve and peach with a blue border. Measures approx 74 Inches square ( 187cm). The nine patch blocks are hand pieced, the rest machined. It is hand quilted at 4 stitches per inch and the plain backing fabric has been bought to the front and machine stitched. Cotton batting that does not come right to the outside edges. This one does have wear, mostly to the edges, has some marks and general fading also. Still a great quilt.
Star quilt top from Memphis USA. If I had to guess this ones age I’d say 60’s or 70’s. I’m also guessing this was a novice quilt makers attempt based on the fact it does not sit flat and the points don’t match up etc. It has been hand pieced and measures approx 72 X 88 inches (182 X 223cm). The maker had a “make do” approach and has used fabric that had been sewn in it’s previous life and still has the stitching marks, also fabric from a pre printed panel, complete with wording, has been used to piece the stars. It has some rust type stains and I have not washed this (don’t like to wash unfinished projects) and it does smell musty. Would be great for your primitive crafting!

Gorgeous Dresden plate that I am guessing is from the 20’s or 30s based on the plates. May have been put together later on but I am unsure. Hand and machine piecing. Hand appliquéd and hand quilted at approx 5 stitches per inch. Mauve backing (same as front) turned to front and hand stitched for binding.Cotton batting. Approx 70 X 80 inches (177 X 203 cm). Four plates across and five down. Lots of wear to this one. Edges are really worn, the worst section I have shown in the pics. Has some marks and one edge (top) is grubby even though I have just laundered. I would say that almost all the blocks would have some damage, some more than others. I am making this sound terrible and it is nowhere near perfect but I would definitely not call this a cutter either as it is just too stunning! Makes a wonderful display.
